A Construction Tip for the Banjo Banjo Heel Shaping
Here is a simple and effective way to always have the correct size round template handy for marking the heel of the banjo before final shaping. The heel thickness will sometimes vary depending on the amount of sanding that was done or possibly the size you like isn't standard, or for whatever reason. I use a small hose clamp that I can adjust for those little variances from one banjo heel to the next. Now you can shape the remainder of the heel and know that you are shaping to a round shape.
